Installation

As of May December 2016 we recommend version 3.0 or version 3.2 of MongoDB, and the WiredTiger storage engine.
The installer in our most recent product releases offers to install that version 3.0 of MongoDB for you if none is present on your server, and no manual configuration is required. You can definitely
It is possible to continue to use MongoDB 2.6 for some products, but 3.0 brings and 3.2 bring in a number of important performance improvements and certain products strictly require these capabilities.

MongoDB 3.2 4 is not supported by our applications at this time, and version 2.4 is supported only if the db_use_v26_features compatibility option is disabled and with much reduced performance.

For upgrading an existing MongoDB installation we HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you follow the official documentation for MongoDB upgrades (for upgrades to 3.0, and for upgrades to 3.2)  - the two most critical aspects are

• that you have to go cannot skip major versions for  upgrades (i.e. from 2.4 you must upgrade to 2.6 and cannot go first, then to 3.0 and finally to 3.0 directly2) ,
• and that you will have to upgrade the MongoDB authorization scheme before 3.0 will work, as documented on this page.
