How to create a Collector
A collector Collector is created similarly to setting up a regular Open-AudIT server. Credentials would be created on the server Server for each collectorCollector. Upon login to Open-AudIT Enterprise on the collectorCollector, an option can be chosen to turn the server into a collectorCollector. The server Server ip along with the username and password is provided by the user. The collector Collector registers itself with the server Server and changes the user interface to read only or hidden for various items. The server Server associates the user account with the collector’s Collector’s ip address and only accepts requests using that account, from that address.
1. Log into Open-AudIT Enterprise on your regular Server's install.

b. Add a license for Open-AudIT Enterprise. (The Enterprise Server License has one built in Collector License.) Note - Enterprise users receive one Collector license for free as part of their Enterprise License.
2. Create a User account for the Collector server.
(menu -> Manage -> Users -> Create User).
- Ensure the type is 'collectorCollector'.
- Ensure you click the Default Organisation.
- Ensure the role is 'collectorCollector'.

3. Set up the Collector server.
Install Open-AudIT on your designated Collector.
The collector Collector license is built into the server Server license. As such a collector Collector instance does not require a license to be installed.
Log in to Open-AudIT Enterprise on the collectorCollector.
Make the install a collector Collector by navigating to:
Menu -> Admin -> Collectors -> Make this Install a Collector.
Provide a name for this collectorCollector.
Provide the address of the Server (e.g http://192.168.88.45) in the host field.
Provide the username and password that were used above when creating the collector Collector user.
Provide the network address of the Collector (http://192.168.88.47/open-audit/). This is the usual network address used in discovery and should be where the target device submit their audits to (the Collector).
4. Check if the collector Collector creation was successful.
a. You should now be able to see on the server Server, the collector Collector you have just registered. Go to menu -> Admin -> Collectors -> List Collectors.
b. You should now be able to see on the collectorCollector, the task that will run every 15 minutes that will ask the server Server for any discoveries to execute. Go to menu -> Admin -> Tasks -> List Tasks.
5. Create a discovery for the collectorCollector.
