first of all big thanks to Mark for his work! I know things switching from opmantek.com to firstwave.com but i am still confused which page and which download section is THE actual at the moment and which is actively maintained. Because there is:
So maybe open-audit.org should also forward to https://firstwave.com/products/network-discovery-and-inventory-software/ and content should be merged with community.opmantek.com ? Old forum could be purged.
And maybe the repository on github could also have the latest releases on it + maybe adding an issues section for public reporting?
I can see how it is confusing.
FirstWave.com is the authoritative source.
Open-AudIT.org needs to be updated with the latest Linux download.
Opmantek was acquired by FirstWave, hence the redirect.
The forums will be purged in due time. They have been read only for years and I don't think are relevant any longer.
The GitHub code is the open-source code only. Not the commercial code.
I do want to enable Issues on GutHub.
Not the installer. For "it just works", download from FirstWave.
Thanks for the feedback, I'll pass it along to the Market Dept.
Okay thanks for clarification.
What i still dont understand: what is the difference between the installer from firstwave/open-audit and the open-source code from github? So i can use the installer also in a non-commercial environment? The community edition (open-source, non-commercial) is for me actually the same and when i want to use it commercially i have to get a license and i will get more features activated.
The installer packages both the Community and Professional/Enterprise versions.
You can use the 'installer' and only ever use the Community (AGPL) licensed software. No need for a license if the Community version meets your needs.
We hope the commercial versions (Professional and/or Enterprise) provide enough value that you would consider paying for a license for one of those.
The environment you use the software in (commercial, at home, education, et al) makes no difference to the license.
Ok, thanks for your reply
