Can NMIS monitor devices that use non-SNMP interface?

Can NMIS monitor devices that use non-SNMP interface? For example, can it monitor SDH and GPON devices over XML or CORBA interfaces?

      NMIS does not directly support collecting performance data from non-SNMP devices, but there are extensible server monitoring mechanisms that might get you the desired level of functionality: these are documented on the Managing Servers and Services with NMIS8 page. NMIS supports data collecting using external scripts, and since version 8.5.10G NMIS can use nagios plugins as well.
