Greetings,

I'm playing around with the NMIS VM, and I got it up and running and ostensibly working, but the NMIS server itself (localhost) is showing degraded, with SNMP down.   From the event log:

1503525617,localhost,SNMP Down,Major,,No response from remote host '127.0.0.1'
1503525917,localhost,Proactive Reachability,Minor,,Value=80.000 Threshold=80
1503525917,localhost,Proactive Interface Availability,Fatal,,Value=0.000 Threshold=30

snmpget and snmpwalk work fine from the command line.  I set the public community name on the localhost node. Any Idea why that would be?  Is there something in the config or install I missed?

Thanks,

Joe

      Hello Joe,

The SNMP Community string is preconfigured on the vm to "nmisGig8" and should work right out of the box. Please keep in mind it can take 2-3 collection cycles after the VM is started before self polling settles out.Let us know how it progresses.
