I ran a discovery yesterday on my subnet, and afterwards, I started looking for any duplicates that may have stayed. I've noticed that the audit doesn't quite grab the information and update well.

One of the discoveries, discovered the same laptop, but slightly different name. For example, it discovered 'laptop-name', and 'laptop-nam'. There is only one laptop with the name, and even in DHCP, we have it reserved, and no other laptop with that name and MAC address can take that IP address.

Has anyone come across this before? We've ruled out there being a duplicate "rogue" laptop.

      Hi,

I would suggest deleting the duplicate device and enable match_ip in the configuration. Enabling match_ip should help with some of the duplicate devices.

Thanks, I'll give that a try and go from there. The odd thing is, the listing with the correct name doesn't have much information, but the listing with the missing letter has full info. It's rather strange.
