good day,

As the title of the question indicates, I have trouble deleting a node with special characters, since the site where the equipment belongs is called "CABAÑAS" and by mistake it was uploaded with that name but NMIS does not support the letter "Ñ" so that the node "CABAÃ'A" appears with this name, I have already tried to delete it several times but it keeps appearing. I would like to know if there is any procedure to erase this type of nodes that is uploaded with a special character by mistake.

Thank you very much in advance for the support you can give me and I keep an eye on your comments.

Regards,

      Juan,

I was able to duplicate this problem in our lab.  I took the following steps to delete the node.

      Step #1

      Edit /usr/local/nmis8/conf/Nodes.nmis.

Find the Node with the special character and completely remove the perl hash that is associated with it.  Backup this file first as any syntax error will cause your NMIS to stop functioning.

      Step #2

Remove any files with this node name in /usr/local/nmis8/var & usr/local/nmis8/database/nodes

      Step #3

Refresh the NMIS GUI; the offending node should be gone.

      Best regards,

      Chris Gatlin
